BOW TIE OR PONY
The Indy 500 is a fun race to watch in our home as my 1994 Cobra Convertible is one of the 1,000 Indy Pace Cars made that year. This year was no exception. With the race on TV, Bano & I were preparing dinner for a family day at our house. While Bano was manning his BBQ grill and getting the pool ready for the grandkids I was in the kitchen keeping an eye on the race and report highlights. At one point, under a yellow caution, I saw the red with a white stripe pace car. So I say excitingly “hey the pace car this year the mustang”. Bano asked if I was sure and of course I adamantly was. Not believing me, he stops and watches for a few minutes. When the next caution came around, you could see the pace car in the distance coming onto the track. As I am pointing it out to him, a close up reveals that the pace car is wearing a bow tie instead of a pony (was my face as red as the pace car). Of course I heard about that all day. Since nothing more was said after that day I thought I was in the clear. Once again was I wrong, not only did Bano enjoy telling the whole club about my little faux pas but he also did a tech tip on it.
