On Sunday May 17, 2009, Frank Lopez and Kirk Stafford attended the 49th Annual Assist-A-Grad presentations at the Fairfield Community Center. This year the Assist-A-Grad program presented 173 total scholarships sponsored by 92 sponsors totaling $139,250. This year‟s recipient of the Golden Hills Mustang Club scholarship is Luciano Diaz from Fairfield High School. He will be taking classes at Solano Community College starting this summer, including auto shop courses. Luciano‟s future plans are to become a certified journeyman mechanic and work in a local repair shop. He is very appreciative that the Golden Hills Mustang Club chose him as the recipient of our 2009 scholarship

We were happy to award this sizable scholarship to Justin as he was the perfect candidate. He is beginning his career with an apprenticeship with a local dealer, and he will be attending school to further his certifications in each automotive area. Good luck Justin, we are confident you will achieve your goals.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior in the Fairfield school district who is pursuing a career in the automotive field, or whose parents are al-ready in the field. The funding comes from fund raising events during the year, which is added to the committed amount of $335 from the general funds.
