Of all the cars I have owned during my “short” lifetime,
I
really only aspired to two, a Thunderbird and a Mustang. In
1987, thirty years after the fabled ‘57 bird, I finally got
my
bird, a silver on silver coupe. It was a great car and we kept
it until 2001, when we needed a “dinghy” for our motor
home.
We settled on a Saturn L200 sedan and took it all over the
country. After we decided to no longer go on cross-country
jaunts, we sold the motor home in 2005 (when the first ever “from the ground-up” Pony
was introduced) and the color selection of “screaming yellow
caught our eye. That was it! We went to see Cowboy at Fairfield Ford
and ordered our “YLRPONY.” We couldn’t
get the GT with the pony package,
so we settled for the V6, good choice. My son added the
LeMans stripes. This past April/May we took it on a 5200 mile junket
through the south and back averaging 28.9
mpg at 70 mph. It was a comfortable as our motor home was!
