The Burke's 2005 Mustang

When the 2005 mustang was introduced most of us just could not get enough of it. As it was with Terry.
I say he was obsessed with the new 05, Like many of our club members were. Terry and I first saw the new 2005 at the international mustang meet in Calgary. Terry was caught drooling over it. He would have sat in it but they would not allow it. At this time there was no price on the new 05 yet, but still people ordered it without knowing. When we came home from the international meet, Terry had a screen saver on his computer with the new 05.
In about November Terry kept trying to think of a way we could have a new 05. He though of getting rid of his commuter car. Since I already had a 2001 mustang.
But because of insurance and way too many mustangs in our coral I said NO WAY BUDDY. Where in the heck are those 6’ plus guys in your car pool going to sit? I finally agreed in November to sell the black 2001 so he could have his dream car.

We never even test drove the new 05 . Terry knew what color he wanted.. RED his favorite color.
So off to Wilson Cornelius to talk mustangs. We ordered exactly what we wanted and the wait began.. December, January and February passed, no mustang We were told over and over the car was on the railway somewhere between the factory and Benecia..
On April 1st the car was delivered to WC. We were so excited that we took the car as it was with the plastic and all. .
OBSESSED.. NAH... Just one HAPPY MUSTANGER, with a grin from ear to ear Terry drove the new beauty home. We tenderly took all the plastic off the interior and washed the exterior of all the dirt. OH what a Beauty this car is. We both were grinning from ear to ear over it.
Now our first outing was to Napa to deal with the new club t-shirts.. We met Norma and Dan and ended up going out to dinner with them.. The Corderio family was at the same restaurant and they got to see the new mustang too.. Rachel even went for a ride in it. So back home to the new stable we went with R GT PONY

We are so very happy with our new pony. Only one big disappointment came when Ileine had a incident happen on the freeway between Fairfield and Vacaville with rocks, $8,000 worth of damage done to the exterior of the car… after a month of work and new paint our pony is as good as new. It has even galloped off to Montana.
